Better Days are Coming!

Aloha Colleagues!

As of this writing, we know that Hawaii has the third-highest growth rate of Covid in the US (1.21).  We also knew this was coming as a result of recent Thanksgiving gatherings, and nurses are doing our very best to cope.  You are a super-hero, no doubt about it.

The reason I say better days are coming, is that multiple vaccines have been approved for use in the USA and nearly 1000 doses of the Pfizer BioNTECH product have been delivered to Queens Medical Center, where administration is now being planned.  In fact, projections indicate that everyone who wants to be immunized (and, really, who wouldn’t) will have been by July, 2021!

Some things are still uncertain.  Like our big Spring 2021 Conference,

“You Only Live Twice:  Cardiology & Gerontology”

which is happening on March 9 & 10, 2021.  We just don’t know if we will be meeting together at the Blue Note on beautiful Waikiki and having our Pao Hana at Dukes, or meeting at a distance via Zoom. A decision will be made by Valentine’s Day, when Registration will open.  Whatever happens, you can register for one or both days.

Meanwhile, we are offering Pharmacology on line via Zoom on January 20 HST and our nurturing Healing the Healer conferences on January 12 (PST) and February 9 (EST) for our colleagues on the mainland.  These are convenient if you live in Hawaii but work evenings or nights.

Stay Safe!

Mahalo for all you do!

Leslie
